On February 23, 2021 as part of the 41st MASE Annual Meeting we are excited to have Dennis Healy of Infiltrator Water Technologies kicking off the afternoon of virtual training on the installation of the plastic tank technologies that we represent at Septic Systems of Maine. Several site evaluators contacted us as well as Presby Environmental Inc. over this last year with questions regarding the wastewater from the Cannabis operations in Maine. To help provide some solutions to this problem we are pleased to have Brenda Faz scheduled at 1:45pm to discuss the different wastewater generation and disposal options for the Cannabis Industry.
Thursday, July 25th has been scheduled for this years scenic ride to the Presby Environmental, Inc (PEI) manufacturing facility in Whitefield, NH. The informational seminar will begin at 11am. The event is open to all septic industry professionals. Riding a motorcycle to Presby Environmental, Inc in Whitefield, NH is optional. The White Mountain Regional Airport is located adjacent to the plant if you would like to fly-in and of course traveling by automobile is always acceptable. The motorcycle group will be meeting at 8:30am at the Augusta Civic Center and plan to ride to the plant with a review of the 2019 Maine Advanced Enviro-Septic and Enviro-Septic Design & Installation Manual Changes, starting at 11am with a tour of the factory and lunch provided. PDH Credits will be available for attending this event.

IWT and PEI are confident about the long-term treatment performance of PEI’s wastewater treatment and dispersal systems that are already installed. However, the companies have elected to modify certain design and installation specifications in order to standardize requirements for the merged companies’ combined treatment and dispersal product offerings nationwide. The specifications change will also increase factor of safety relative to long-term hydraulic performance of AES systems.
Changes are limited to product offerings, sizing, vertical profile, and replacement provisions, as follows:
The new manual has been approved by the state and can now be used for all designs. Designs submitted after September 1, 2019, must be in accordance with the new manual.

The online certification training videos have been updated to reflect the 2019 manual updates. If you are already certified, you are not required to re-certify in order to continue designing and installing PEI systems.
PEI and IWT will be hosting two Maine seminars, the first will be Thursday, July 25th at the PEI Headquarters in Whitefield, NH as part of the Motorcycle Lunch & Learn coordinated by Brent Lawson. The next will be in the evening on Thursday, August 8th at the Augusta Civic Center (76 Community Drive, Augusta, ME 04333), which will accommodate 150 attendees.
